Thankful...

I ended a long afternoon today with a friend asking me... "Well... Kelly, can you say you are thankful?"

Yes... I am thankful!  I am so thankful.

My whole family is safe.  Unfortunately our home did not do as well.  We have 4 trees on (or in) our home.   When  friend called to tell us our home was damaged i never expected what I saw when we got there.  I am not sure even how to describe it.  I'll upload some pics when I can.  For now we are trying to salvage what we can.  most furniture is soaked ... mattresses.... all walls but one I can think of...

all for now...  our internet is off and on.

Kyle is doing fine - we are all doing fine.  Lots of work to do... but seriously... here is what is in the front of my mind...

it is stuff.... just stuff....  money and stuff are things of this world... they just don't matter.

Kelly, our family came through hurricane Ivan 4 years ago and came home to the same scene. Trees on and in the house, walls ruined, fixtures full of water, ceilings collapsed and carpet wet and molding. Just the thought of sorting it all out and getting it cleaned up was overwhelming! But I had the same thought as you...it's just STUFF. And stuff is replaceable. It's a real pain, but totally doable. It's those precious loved ones there with you that are the only treasures. And you and all of your treasures are A-Okay! I will keep you and your family in our prayers as you begin the repair and replace process. Hang in there!

I am shocked at the damage - although I shouldn't as I've seen it all around us too. I've tried texting you guys, but the service is beyond horrible. We rarely can use our phones. I'm glad you have a safe place to stay and that you weren't there when it came through! Hopefully cell service will get better, so text or call if we can do anything. I'm in college station today and heard from Cody who saw Kevin Jetton here - that's how we knew. I probably won't be able to check internet for updates as we are without power or internet too, but I'll have Cody keep me posted. Let us know if we can do anything. We're praying for you!

Wow. Recently- I was in a car accident and had brain damage- was worried about the hospital bill and the total to fix the car that a Godly woman in my life was letting me borrow (but it was totalled). Finally- when I was off the medications as hard and awake enough to keep my eyes open for more than 30 minutes- All I could think of was your family & how my money and disaster at the moment was nothing compared to what others have had.

You and your family are just a blessing.
I've seen that I can't have it THAT BAD!
There's a God that's bigger than us all and he heals and plans everything we seek to do or have seen.

He's a great dad to have.

I'm really sorry that the Devil keeps attacking and trying to pull y'all down.

I'm praying for all 5 of you and your friends and family's help to continue.

Our Story

This story begins with 5 people. John, Kelly, Jadon, Jack, and Kyle (he is only 23 weeks old... and he is still safely tucked away in his mommy's belly) In an hour's time Kyle made his way into the world. 1 pound, 3 ounces- 11 and a half inches long. This family will never be the same. This child is a warrior. He has the spirit of a Lion, and more courage than a whole pride. He is fierce, and fearless- and he is teaching us to fear the Lord- and to believe that God is in our midst and healing even now. Join us as pray, as we praise, and as we journey through this life as lovers of God and all His glory.

Kyle is in the March of Dimes Promo!
